Tip of the Week

Creative Gift Wrapping
Better than gift wrap: Get yourself a discarded paper box. Paste old Christmas cards to all visible sides, including the lid. Cover it with clear contact paper for a smooth finish. Put the Christmas present inside; add a ribbon if you wish.

Fabric Scraps for Wrapping
Fabric scraps can be used for wrapping presents. Use it like paper, or make into gift bags. You can make a more formal, structured gift bag, or simply make a drawstring bag. Or, cut out shapes from the design of the fabric, and use to decorate gifts wrapped in plain brown paper. You can also tear the fabric into strips, and use it as ribbon.

Gift Package for Odd-shaped Gifts
Look for or save the large holiday tins that popcorn comes in. When they´re empty, rinse them out and use the tin as a package for a large or odd-shaped gift that may otherwise be too difficult to wrap.

Instead of buying those expensive long skinny plastic containers for storing gift wrap, pick up an inexpensive transparent vinyl suit or dress bag at a discount store. It will hang in your closet, so you can store all the rolls of gift wrap upright and off the floor.

Holiday Gift Wrapping
This is more of a time saver than it is a money saver, but as they say, "Time is Money! "Wrap gifts as soon as you purchase them to avoid last minute gift wrapping rush and stress.
