Where can I donate items?

Prescription/Pill Bottles for Donation

Prescription or pill bottles are saved because there are some countries that are so “poor” that they can't afford prescription bottles. Over here, it is illegal to re-use prescription bottles. But in these other countries, they don't have these laws, because they need all of the help that they can get! Please mail them to Amvet's Post 208, Ladies Auxiliary, 5 South Street, Hudson, MA 01749 and mention the name Deirdre so that they know how you heard about them.

Thank you. I refill many prescriptions on a monthly basis and do not want to just throw them away. I have used them for storage and beading, saving small amounts of paint, just to name a few. I am glad to know that they can be put to a good use. Linda

I have been concerned for a long time now as to how to recycle these bottles. I have been tossing them out but have always thought about how many must be in a landfill somewhere forever. Glad to find a place to send them. What about the caps? Should we send them along with the original bottle? Stop and think about how many of these things must be piling up somewhere. My God, there has to be a better way. I'm not a treehugger, but I do believe we should start understanding the way things are here and fix them soon.
